Taking a Mental Health Day to combat (workplace stress).

Call In! You deserve it

How are you feeling? Are you burnt out from work? Have you been feeling overwhelmed and uninspired? It is time to take that mental health day from work! Call in or put in the request for at least one day off to get back on track. You need this day off because you earned it and DESERVE it.

Burnout from the workplace
YOur Mental Health is important

We often feel guilty about taking a day off for ourselves, but we are not robots, and we need time to compress and rest our brains. The workplace is short-staffed or recent changes are causing you to work longer hours and you are trying but you are burnt out. I am here to tell you that that your employer’s inability to hire and keep more people is not your fault or your business. Your concern should be your health, especially the mental aspect.

Always put your mental health first.

Prioritize your health

If an employer wants to fire you the manager or supervisor is not going to hesitate to walk you out the door. If you die tonight, they are going to replace you in no time because to them the world does not revolve around you. Therefore, you should prioritize your health and wellness. You do not owe your employer anything, especially your mental health.

Burn out can affect your work performance

When you are burned out and overwhelmed you become mentally drained. This can lead to other issues that can manifest physically and affect your work performance. Some employers do not care about their employees’ mental health, and therefore they have high turnover rates. No job is worth your mental health, I do not care how many good benefits or high wages they offer you.

Relax and take a day off to relieve workplace stress
WOrk Smarter not harder

Do not overextend yourself so much that you become the work horse because you owe it to yourself. If you have a family, they deserve the best of you, and you cannot be your best if you are stressed at work. Even if you do not have a family, you should still be putting yourself first.

Seek professional help if needed
Put in your request today!

So, if you have not put in that request yet I am encouraging you to get it done today. Take that mental health day off, relax and pamper yourself. Even if you sleep all day or watch tv you are doing great. Also, I would encourage you to seek professional help if needed.

Take some time off this week and remember this is just my opinion.

Are you experiencing workplace stress? How do you cope?
